The fun theory - how things can be fun to do and yet making behaviour better for people.

This site is dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better.

My very first mod game...

Was doing housekeeping lately and found a CD which contain my final year project sources and documentations. Inside was my very first mod game which I did during my polytechnic days. I remember those time which I spend more than 12 hrs everyday in the lab working on it. Though it was very tiring but I enjoyed throughout the whole project. Everyone in the team was easy to get along with.

The name of this project is called Operation Flashpoint Modification Project which uses of course the Operation Flashpoint mod engine. There were a total of 6 members in the team. Our roles consist of programmers, designers, animator and music composer where most of us were taken a double role job. We have also contribute the voice acting into the game. It took us about 11 weeks to complete.

We are able to accomplish all of the requirements but I feel that the overall game has not polished well enough. Due to time constraint, there is not really enough time to explore more on the animation side. One example is the rolling animation which many simulation games did not incorporate until recently Metal Gear Solid 4, Solid Snake was the only one I saw using the animation.

After watching the clip again, it makes me wonder if I should work on OFP 2 : Dragon Rising which is coming soon sometime this year.

Problem with chain mails...

Internet and emails are sure improving our lives better. With information just away from our fingertips, knowledge can be obtain with just some googling. But still, alot of people are still falling into obtaining false information from the net especially emails.

This has always been a concern to me as some of my friends, just like other people always keep forwarding chain mails and believe what is been forward to them. Come on, its just one click away from the browser to see if its hoax or not, why do people believe just because it was forwarded by their friends?

Anyway here is one of the sites which will teach you what to do when encountering these kinda emails.

Installing Husband 1.0

A funny computer jokes which I got it from a friend via email...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A desperate woman writes to the Technical support Guy,

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5.0, MONEY 3.0 and CRICKET 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no lon ger runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate Woman
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tech Support Reply,

DEAR DESPERATE Madam,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.htmland try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband1.0should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7..0 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-In-Law 1.0 under any circumstances (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.
We recommend: Cooking 3.0 and Hot Looks 7.7.

Good Luck Madam!

Tech Support
